About GIRLS Camp
Wizarding School
Day: July 14-18 ($300)
Overnight: July 13-18 ($600)
Inspired by the Wizarding World of J.K. Rowling and the Harry Potter series, for one week Linden Hall is transformed into an American Wizarding School. Campers are sorted into one of four Houses named for the first four Heads of School at Linden Hall. Participants have time to bond with their housemates and compete together to earn House points. Campers also take classes such as Potion Making, Nature Studies, Transformative Spells, and the Making of Magical Objects. For these classes, campers are divided into age groups, and the content of their studies may vary by age. Additionally, campers try out clubs, such as Wand Dueling and the Gobstones Club. Returning campers may repeat some activities from previous years, but there are also plenty of new and exciting activities for everyone.
For an even more immersive experience, the Wizarding theme is continued during Overnight Camp. Joined by extended day campers in the afternoon session, campers play spellbinding games and create magical crafts. They also have the opportunity to go into town one afternoon, similar to visiting Hogsmeade. In the evening session, overnight campers go on “after hours” quests in which they are given daily tasks that build into a week-long adventure based on those of Harry, Ron, and Hermione.
While no prior knowledge is necessary, campers who have some familiarity with J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter, either through the books or the movies, will have a greater appreciation for this camp theme.
Worlds of Adventure
Day: July 21-25 ($300)
Overnight: July 20-25 ($600)
Have you ever wished you could travel to a storybook land? Now is your chance. Each day campers will have the opportunity to explore a different fantasy world including Wonderland, Neverland, Oz, the Kingdom of Dolls (from The Nutcracker and the Mouse King), and Narnia. Campers will learn more about these storybook worlds and the authors who created them through writing activities, crafts, games, STEM activities, and other immersive experiences. Campers will have a tea party like Alice and the Mad Hatter and make their own mini hot air balloons like the Wizard of Oz. They will hunt for pirate treasure and make their own coat of arms. Some reading skills are necessary to truly appreciate these classic stories and the fantasy worlds in which they take place.
During the afternoon session, extended day and overnight campers have some time to relax while also enjoying their choice of themed crafts or games. In the evening session, campers will participate in daily escape rooms to further immerse themselves in the world of the day. They are then joined by the equestrian overnight campers for water games, a campfire night, a movie night, team building games, and more classic camp fun.
Come join the adventure!
