Our Educational Model
The breadth of course options here includes a comprehensive college preparatory curriculum with a full range of Advanced Placement offerings taught in our modern classrooms — including engineering and robotics offerings in our new MakerSpace. Several courses not offered on campus are available to individual students online through OneSchoolhouse.
With a student-faculty ratio of 1:6 and course enrollments ranging from two (AP Chinese) to 18 students (just one section each of Algebra 1 and Chemistry), Linden Hall provides a highly personalized educational experience. An “academic help” period is built in to all students’ schedules for even more individualized attention from, and discussion of individual ideas with, our faculty.
Intellectually curious and motivated girls thrive at Linden Hall. Many of our students participate in multiple extracurricular activities in addition to their rigorous coursework. Their Advanced Placement and SAT scores, and ultimately their college placements, are quantitative evidence of their success.
Notably, our middle 50% SAT score range is 1380-1500.95% of AP tests taken by our students score a 3, 4, or 5, with an average score of 4.3. Recently, our students have recently been accepted to top-ranked higher education institutions such as: Harvard, Yale, University of Pennsylvania, University of Chicago, Carnegie Mellon, Bryn Mawr, Swarthmore, Duke, Johns Hopkins and Princeton.
Our Focus on Girls
Surrounded by a nurturing community of peers and teachers who encourage curiosity and independence, Linden Hall students feel supported as they pursue their ambitions and take on new challenges. We offer opportunities for girls to explore many different careers as they seek their path. Students are exposed to internship opportunities, exploratory extracurricular activities, and a diverse range of career possibilities through Linden Hall’s network of alumnae, parents, and friends. They are encouraged to stretch past their preconceived capabilities rather than being steered toward safe goals.
The powerful impact of a single-sex education for girls is well-documented, and we invite you to further explore this important aspect of our 272-year history.
We empower our students to become global citizens by developing the specific skills and personal characteristics needed to thrive in an internationally focused world. Our STEAM, public speaking, and humanities offerings augment a world-class core curriculum. Expansive athletics offerings include not just teams in seven sports and our renowned riding program but also a cooperative arrangement with our local public high school for sports Linden Hall doesn’t offer. We are also one of the few independent school that offers students the opportunity to earn their pilot’s license, through our Aviation Program at nearby Lancaster County Airport. Linden Hall’s school culture is very much tied to its bucolic location in the historic Lancaster County village of Lititz. Upper School students enjoy the opportunity to sign out from our security desk and walk down Main Street to enjoy coffee shops, stores, and the famous pretzel and chocolate factories in Lititz. Weekend outings include a variety of entertainment, shopping, and food options in Lancaster County. Students who wish to travel farther afield enjoy chartered bus trips and Amtrak train service to the nearby metropolitan centers of Philadelphia, Washington, D.C., and New York City, which are approximately one, two, and three hours away, respectively.
"Linden Hall has impacted all areas of my life – I am the person I am today because of this school. The role models I had equipped me to be a parent, the education prepared me for college and laid the foundation for my career, and the diverse friendships I have made and maintained have supported me through life's struggles and successes."

"I owe a lot to Linden Hall. Being there gave me the confidence boost I needed during adolescence. Professionally, I owe a lot to my experience, not only at Linden Hall, but also as an exchange student at Fukuoka Daiichi High School in Japan, an opportunity I was afforded through Linden Hall. It was that experience that made me want to work as a diplomat, and I am well on my way to achieving that goal."

"Linden Hall gave me the confidence and insight to navigate the challenges ahead and succeed in a global economy. Linden Hall was a defining experience that helped me find my voice and values. My part in the Linden Hall sisterhood transcends time, class and background. Each sister is brilliant in her own way, and I am so humbled to be part of this phenomenal group of women. We all shine with brilliance in our homes, the workplace and our communities. I love that I am part this fierce and fabulous sisterhood!"

"The experience of going to Linden Hall shaped my life. It was my first experience where I was judged for who I am, instead of what I am (female, member of X family, etc). It was the first time I was surrounded by people who believed I could accomplish anything I put my mind to."
