Middle School – Grades 6-8
Our younger students receive individual attention from their teachers and the residential staff. Learning takes place in our classrooms, and on field trips to such places as museums in Philadelphia. Students enjoy sports, riding horses, playing in our orchestra, singing in choir, and taking visual arts classes. Boarding students are closely supervised on weekend activities and walks into the safe small town of Lititz, Pennsylvania, for ice cream and shopping. They make friends with our day students, and enjoy fun events for holidays and end-of-year celebrations, including a trip to Hershey Park!

6th Grade
In Environmental Science class, study the human impact on the environment, and visit local water facilities and grow trout. Build bridges and learn roots of English words in Latin. Build your own instruments in our Makerspace and perform on them in the historic Mary Dixon Chapel!

7th Grade
Analyzing hair and fur under a microscope is just one activity as you solve mysteries in Forensics, which emphasizes the scientific method and includes topics in physics, chemistry, and biology. In the humanities, study archeology, art, mythology, women in literature, and make a poster of dinosaurs in Greek!

8th Grade
Learn all about how the United States government works in Civics, argue a case in Mock Trial, and develop creativity, critical thinking, problem-solving and collaboration in Engineering. Attending 8th grade at Linden Hall allows a smooth transition to Upper School!

Upper School – Grades 9-12
Linden Hall’s college preparatory program offers the best of everything: rigorous academic courses, individualized attention from teachers, and intensive college counseling. It is an ideal location: a beautiful campus in a small and safe town for students to walk to, close to Philadelphia and Washington, D.C. The residential program has a highly trained professional staff, fun weekend activities, vacation trips, and delicious, multicultural food. Upper School students choose from an array of sports, ride horses, play in the orchestra, sing in choir, and enjoy visual arts classes. Our boarding students make lifelong friends with our day students, choose from many clubs or start their own, and learn from each other through cultural events and celebrations. Our school has an A+ rating from Niche based on reviews from our students and graduates!

9th Grade
Start the year with a weeklong science immersion class trip to the Virginia shore, learn about Ancient World Literature and History, and compete in the Physics Egg Drop. Challenge yourself in a math course at your individual level, and start or continue learning a new language!

10th Grade
This is the time when students begin making more personalized choices about their studies in math and science. New, exciting science and technology electives include Robotics, Web Design, Audio and Visual Technology, and Innovation and Invention. All students enroll in Modern World Literature and History, and many begin taking Advanced Placement courses.

11th and 12th Grades, and Post-Graduate Year
Every student chooses her own course of study, and is guided closely through the college application process. The English curriculum offers seminars as well as AP courses to allow students to pursue specialty areas or earn college credit. Those excited by the social sciences may take Advanced Placement courses and participate in Model United Nations. A wide array of science and math courses, including Robotics, and Web Design, serve every student's interests.

Our Alumnae Say...

"Linden Hall has impacted all areas of my life – I am the person I am today because of this school. The role models I had equipped me to be a parent, the education prepared me for college and laid the foundation for my career, and the diverse friendships I have made and maintained have supported me through life's struggles and successes."

Courtney Frankhouser Myers '93

"I owe a lot to Linden Hall. Being there gave me the confidence boost I needed during adolescence. Professionally, I owe a lot to my experience, not only at Linden Hall, but also as an exchange student at Fukuoka Daiichi High School in Japan, an opportunity I was afforded through Linden Hall. It was that experience that made me want to work as a diplomat, and I am well on my way to achieving that goal."

Andrea Perego '00

"Linden Hall gave me the confidence and insight to navigate the challenges ahead and succeed in a global economy. Linden Hall was a defining experience that helped me find my voice and values. My part in the Linden Hall sisterhood transcends time, class and background. Each sister is brilliant in her own way, and I am so humbled to be part of this phenomenal group of women. We all shine with brilliance in our homes, the workplace and our communities. I love that I am part this fierce and fabulous sisterhood!"

Heather Lemmert Wilson '85

"The experience of going to Linden Hall shaped my life. It was my first experience where I was judged for who I am, instead of what I am (female, member of X family, etc). It was the first time I was surrounded by people who believed I could accomplish anything I put my mind to."

Margaret (Becky) Carpenter Melton '67
