·        Request your evaluation forms as one of your first steps, so your teachers and school official have plenty of time to complete them. They can be working on their pieces while you work on your parts — time-saver!

·       Start keeping graded assignments. Many domestic applicants opt to submit graded work in lieu of testing, which means you need to start saving your work! Please review our Test-Flexible/Test-Optional Policy to review your options to fulfill our testing requirement.

·       Check to see if you’ll need to submit English proficiency scores, and if so, schedule your test date soon. See our testing requirements for details.

·       Start your essays early and work on them in a separate document. Essays matter to us and it takes time to refine your ideas and style, and to proofread. When you feel they’re just right, copy and paste them into your application form.

·       Schedule your interview early. Appointments close to the deadline fill up early, so use our ONLINE SCHEDULER soon to reserve your spot early if you plan to apply for Priority Admission. Priority Admission candidates are encouraged to interview before they complete their application. See your Ravenna account for booking instructions.

Planning to request need-based financial aid? You’ll need to apply separately for consideration; use the instructions on our Tuition & Financial Aid page to guide you. Keep in mind that you must apply for need-based aid at the same time you apply for admission. If you’re accepted without need-based financial aid, you’re ineligible to receive aid at any point during your Linden Hall career except in the event of a significant and unexpected change in financial circumstances (e.g., death or job loss of a tuition payer, emergency such as fire or flood).

Optional items of support: Linden Hall invites additional information that may enhance your application. This may include evaluations for IEPs and 504 plans, additional test scores, music recordings, a short art portfolio, a newspaper clipping, unusually strong athletic results, or a description of a particularly noteworthy accomplishment or project. Please note that only about 10% of our applicants submit additional materials, so you are not at any disadvantage in the admission process if you do not submit items beyond the application requirements. We provide this option so that students who feel their strengths are not adequately captured in the application materials have a chance to shine!

5-day boarding students live on campus from Sunday afternoon until Friday afternoon. It’s a bit of the “best of both worlds” because 5-day boarders develop independence and have the 24/7 opportunities of a boarding school, but still see their family on the weekend.

Three meals per day (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) are included in tuition for boarding students Monday through Thursday, along with dinner on Sunday, and breakfast and lunch on Friday. 5-day boarding students who wish to stay on campus over a weekend may request permission from the Office of Student Life and, if approved, will be billed the weekend rate listed in the Student Handbook.

Most 5-day boarding students live within a 2-hour drive of Linden Hall. For those who live near an Amtrak station, Linden Hall gladly provides a complimentary shuttle to and from the local train station: once daily on Friday, and once daily on Sunday.

7-day boarding students(both US and international citizens) live on campus all week long. Three meals per day (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) are included in tuition for boarding students Monday through Friday, and weekends feature brunch and dinner. An array of high-energy and low-key activities are planned each weekend so students can balance their academics with a healthy dose of fun and relaxation. 7-day boarding students are encouraged to spend time with day and 5-day boarding students, and with permission many 7-day boarders enjoy going home with day or 5-day boarder friends for a weekend of sleepovers and activities.

Please note that students attending Linden Hall on an I-20 are required to live on campus unless they petition to live nearby with an immediate family member.
