Four New Trustees Join the Board
Four inspiring new members have joined the Linden Hall Board of Trustees: Angela Odjidja Boateng, Esq.; Tija R. Hilton-Phillips P’19, Esq.; Angela Thomas ’12; and Rev. Carol Dague. Having joined the Board in July, they are serving a three-year term.
Angela Odjidja Boateng, Esq., is General Counsel of the Pennsylvania Medical Society and a board member of the Community Check-Up Center, both in Harrisburg. She previously held numerous positions—culminating in Branch Chief for Policy, Program Planning and Coordination, where she assisted in the development of policies pertaining to the implementation of the Affordable Care Act’s Maternal, Infant, and Early Childhood Home Visiting (MIECHV) Program—at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services in Rockville, Maryland.
Boateng earned her JD from The University of Baltimore, master’s of health science from The Johns Hopkins School of Hygiene and Public Health, and undergraduate degrees in biology and sociology from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County.
Tija R. Hilton-Phillips ’P19, Esq., is Director of Regulatory Affairs at Highmark Inc., having joined that company in 1992 as associate counsel. Before that, she was a law clerk for the Honorable Harold E. Sheely of the Cumberland County Court of Common Pleas.
Hilton-Phillips has served as president of the St. Stephen’s Episcopal School Board of Trustees and president of its Home and School Association, as well as a board member of the Susquehanna Waldorf School and co-chair of Linden Hall’s Athletics Booster Club.
She graduated from Franklin and Marshall College and earned her JD from the Dickinson School of Law. She resides in Wrightsville with her husband Tod, son Trey and daughter, Tahri, a Linden Hall senior and president of its Student Council.
Angela Thomas ’12 is a graduate student at Yale University studying Chronic Disease Epidemiology and Global Health. She is co-founder of a startup called Mosaic, which focuses on changing the narrative around the refugee crisis by creating an online platform that allows refugees to sell goods anywhere around the world.
Thomas is a youth associate of the United Nations Populations Fund in New York, a fellow of the Global Health Justice Partnership at Yale, and a board member of the Adebisi Babatunde Thomas Entrepreneurship Institute in Nairobi, Kenya. She graduated from Carnegie Mellon University.
Rev. Carol Dague joins the Board as representative of the Lititz Moravian Church, where she chairs the Child Protection Committee and sings in the choir. She is a former Pastor of College Hill Moravian Church in Bethlehem. A graduate of the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, she taught social studies in the Bethlehem Area School District and served as Director of Christian Education at First UCC in Hellertown while studying for a Master of Divinity from Moravian Theological Seminary.
Rev. Dague’s previous board roles include President of the Moravian Seminary Alumni Association and President of the Board of ShareCare, a non-profit that serves the elderly and disabled. She currently resides in Lancaster.
