New Trustees Join in the Board
Carolyn Myers Staszak '00 is a 2000 graduate of Linden Hall. She continued her studies and swimming at Washington College in Chesterton, Maryland. She was a captain of the swim team her senior year. She was a member all four years of Alpha Omicron Pi Sorority where she was the corresponding secretary and chair for continuous open recruitment. She has been a member of the Night on The Town committee, which is a fundraiser for the Lancaster Early Education Center. She previously was a member of the Junior League of Lancaster, and she is currently on the Veranda Homeowners Board and serves as the Vice President. She currently serves on the Linden Hall Alumnae Association Board as the Vice President.
Rebecca Merritt '88 is a 1988 graduate of Linden Hall. She is a former administrative assistant at Delaware Valley University in Doylestown, Pennsylvania, where she worked in the equine studies program. She has served as a Carriage Driving judge with the American Driving Society since 1994. For almost 20 years, Merritt was a member of the development team which was responsible for the creation of an exchange program between Delaware Valley University and Hartpury College in Gloucestershire, England. In 1994, she participated as a member of the International Carriage Driving Competition for Disabled Athletes for the American team, which won a bronze medal at the World Championship games. Merritt is a founding member of the Friends of Equine Society at Delaware Valley University formed in 1996 to promote equine and animal science programs throughout the country, while highlighting accomplishments of DelVal scholar athletes. She is the 1999 recipient of the Delaware Valley University Staff Member of the Year award and is a life member of the American Driving Society. She is also a member of the Brandywine Valley Carriage Driving Club and an active participant with the Little People of America organization. Merritt earned her master’s degree in Educational Leadership and her bachelor’s degree from Delaware Valley University in Doylestown, Pennsylvania.
Chao Guo P’19 is the parent of recent Linden Hall graduate, Xingyun Guo ’19, who is currently attending Purdue University. Guo is the President of Huzhou Majorlight Hardware Co., Ltd. Zhejiang, China. He became familiar with Linden Hall and Lititz, PA, when Majorlight Hardware began exporting its products to Pennsylvania in 2003, and he has become very fond of Pennsylvania. Majorilight Hardware manufactures and exports outdoor hardware products, aluminum, windows, and PVC windows.
