Overture Keyword Wizard

Before you go wandering over the web, you really should consider How to Search most effectively. There are some other very good guides on how to search at About.com. If you don't know where to start, try one of the Question and Answer sites and look through the answers for keywords that can be used on other sites to get further information. You may also want to try the two Keyword Suggestion sites to help you refine your search criteria.

Internet Basics

Many people are still just beginning to use the Internet, and don't fully appreciate all that it can do. Most of these are being drawn onto the Internet by email. Unfortunately, they lack an appreciation for how email can be best used. A Beginner's Guide to Effective Email can show you some unusual things that can be done with this new type of communication, as well as make the email programs less confusing for beginners.

The other type of people just getting onto the Web are adults whose children are using the internet. While this is necessary, and the adults may feel like their children are teaching them everything, it is important to realize that children don't always know when they are getting into trouble. CyberAngels.org is an organization developed to help inform parents about some of the dangers of the Internet, and what can be done about them.

About.com has an Internet for Beginners devoted to helping you get the most out of all parts of the internet. PBS hosts the Nerds Internet History that presents the evolution of the Net in a fun way. Finally, WhatIs is an internet encyclopedia that can help you make sense of Internet jargon.

Webpage Design

I like to code my own HTML for my web pages, and you can learn how to also. I taught myself HTML by following the tutorials at these sites:
