“When girls come to Linden Hall, they quickly learn that it is okay to be challenged academically, it is okay to ask questions, and it is okay to try new things. And they do. They come to love the challenge, to explore the new, and to build lifelong friendships that span the world.”

“One of my favorite spots on campus is the Connecting Bridge, the hallway that leads from the Annex to the Business Offices. The photos of graduating classes from the 1860's to the present wallpaper this space. From the western windows, I can see the past – the Castle, Moravian Square – and I'm reminded of the role of the Moravians and their vision for educating young women of all backgrounds. From the eastern windows, many new improvements to the campus can be seen developing before my eyes! It is exciting to be part of a living, vital institution that recognizes and is proud of its history, but is dynamically seeking to challenge and motivate for the future.”

"What strikes me most about Linden Hall is how well it engages the whole person. The girls here are students and part of a larger family. Lots of places talk about lifelong learning and teaching to the whole child. Linden Hall puts those words into real, every day action in the classroom and, importantly, beyond the classroom. As faculty, we see the girls at meals, in study halls, during on and off campus activities, with their teammates at games or their dorm mates at sleepovers... We engage the whole student because we see them beyond the classroom and the students are able to see us that way as well, not just as teachers but also as lifelong learners and parents and whole people. In the small, family atmosphere of Linden Hall, we all learn from and engage one another.”

“I am a proud graduate of Linden Hall. The day I left this school it was like leaving a dear friend that gave me so much. I was well-armed with all of the tools I needed to succeed in life. I was confident, well-spoken, educated, and ready to face the world and conquer my dreams. One afternoon I received a phone call with a job offer to teach riding at my alma matter, I jumped at the chance. Coming back to work here was like coming home, and coming back to my family.”

“One of my objectives has always been to share my love of language learning with the students I teach. I like to instill in my students my passion, excitement and love of the Spanish language and its culture! I like to create an environment, my classroom, where my students can feel as if they are in a Spanish speaking country. With our small class sizes, each student can participate in speaking Spanish daily! It is always a pleasure for me to hear my students speak in Spanish and then later in college to study and or major in Spanish.”

“To appreciate language and use it correctly are two of the most valuable skills a student can acquire. As an English teacher, I strive to help students reach these goals, as well as to introduce them to some of the greatest literature Western Civilization has produced -- often works of literature I wish that I myself had had the opportunity to study in high school but did not encounter until later, frequently on my own."
