Beginning the journey to new heights

As the nation’s top college preparatory school for girls, Linden Hall is committed to the highest degree of academic achievement. With small class size, a diverse student body, and an all-girl focus, Linden Hall delivers an environment where students experience not just individual attention, but an individualized course of academic study with purposeful guidance.

Middle School (grades 5-8) at Linden Hall is dedicated to helping adolescent girls mature as learners, actors, artists, musicians, dancers, athletes, leaders, and friends. It is a safe and caring place where academics come first and girls are the focus – free of the social pressures that can exist in larger, co-ed schools.

The primary goals of the Middle School are to lay the groundwork for success in upper levels, focusing primarily on developing skills of independent and critical thinking, clear and concise writing, confident public speaking, responsible behavior, and caring collaboration with peers. The school achieves these goals through a traditional academic program that offers classes in the core subjects of math, science, history, English, language (Spanish, French, or Latin), and creative arts.

In addition to the core academic program, classes in study skills, organization and wellness, all-school meetings, and community service activities are designed to help girls engage with their learning, their peers, and their school.
