Performance opportunities abound
Drama
With a broad range of opportunities, Linden Hall’s drama department encourages participation from the novice actress to the budding starlet! The school’s drama program has helped graduates place directly into drama programs at some of the top universities in the nation, including The New York Art & Design School and Emerson College.
Students can participate in full-length plays, musicals, and smaller theater pieces, including storytelling. In the classroom, students learn about theater through history, improvisation, and scene study. The department strives to build poise, confidence, and leadership in public speaking and performing to better prepare the young women of Linden Hall for their college experience and life in general. The school’s Drama Competition Team has been regularly recognized for its ensemble skills, and several of our students have been lauded at high school theater festivals.
Music
There are so many ways for students to experience music at Linden Hall. The school’s new music director has given new life to many areas of the program, and exciting, new curriculum has also been introduced – including an entire course on African Drumming and Rhythm!
Students can participate in chorus, instrumental, hand bell choir, and music history in both Middle and Upper School. Students can advance their skills through individual instrumental and vocal lessons. Throughout the year students have many opportunities to perform for the student body and the surrounding communities. |
