Building confidence through music & drama
Linden Hall offers its students many outlets to express their personal interests, and the performing arts department is no exception. There’s a wide range of opportunities available in drama and music, both in and out of the classroom. Any interest level can be satisfied – from the novice to the more serious, aspiring performer.
Music
Courses designed for the musician and non-musician alike look in-depth at the classics, as well as the art and composition of various musical styles. The music department boasts both instrumental and vocal ensembles who perform both sacred and secular music of a variety of compositional styles and languages. Students are able to take private vocal and instrumental lessons with on-campus and adjunct instructors.
Drama
Linden Hall offers theater arts as part of the academic curriculum and as an extracurricular activity. Our program is highly respected for its expert teaching, wide range of choices, and superior performances. Students can participate in full-length plays, musicals, and smaller theater pieces, including storytelling. In the classroom, students learn about theater through history, improvisation, and scene study. The department strives to build poise, confidence, and leadership in public speaking and performing to better prepare the young women of Linden Hall for their college experience and life in general. The school’s Drama Competition Team has been regularly recognized for its ensemble skills, and several of our students have been lauded at high school theater festivals.
