Dear Potential and Current Linden Hall Families,
As you may know, Linden Hall is the oldest girls’ boarding school in the nation.
Although being so distinguished is an admirable trait, Linden Hall is committed
to being not only one of the most venerable institutions in the country, but also
one of our nation’s finest college preparatory schools.
In keeping with that commitment to excellence, Linden Hall is proud to launch its
Advanced Scholars Program. The Advanced Scholars Program (ASP) is a curriculum designed
for talented and motivated Upper School (grades 9-12) students who wish to challenge
themselves with advanced study. Certainly, our entire academic program is college
preparatory; however, the ASP is an option designed for those students capable of
and interested in the pursuit of honors and college-level work while in secondary
school.
The details of the ASP can be found in a PowerPoint presentation on our website.
As you will see, the program requires students to study a broad range of subjects,
complete an independent research project, and demonstrate academic mastery not only
to the faculty of Linden Hall, but on external scholarly assessments as well.
Rest assured that the entire curriculum at Linden Hall is designed with the goal
of having students best prepared for college and for life. The Advanced Scholars
Program, however, takes those curricular goals to a higher achievement level.
After reviewing the program on our website, I invite you to contact Kate Rill, our
Admission Director, or Sally Watkins, our Academic Dean, for more information.
Linden Hall strives to offer young women a rigorous 21st century education within
a setting of distinguished 18th century traditions. We believe such a powerful combination
is singularly unique.
Most sincerely,
Vincent M. Stumpo, Ph.D.
Headmaster
