Linden Hall's ESL Program: Committed to Excellence Linden Hall is committed to supporting our international students in their mastery of the English language. Because we recognize the importance of English acquisition, we are dedicated to engaging students at their current abilities and taking them to the highest levels possible.

We believe that no school in the country has the success rates of Linden Hall in preparing international students for the English-language requirements of American colleges and universities.

In fact, because of the strength of our ESL (English as a Second Language)
program, Linden Hall's seniors averaged close to 100 on the TOEFL (Test of
English as a Second Language) exam, a score high enough for entry into most
American colleges and universities without ESL placement.

事实显出，由于我们为国际学生所办的英语课程(ESL)相当的优秀，我们学校毕业生的托福
平均成绩将近一百，这样的成绩在进入美国大部分的大学之后，可以免修国际学生应修的
英语课程(ESL)。

Our ESL program is superb, and our students' TOEFL scores reflect our commitment to English acquisition excellence. Each year we review our incoming international students' needs and adjust our programs accordingly.

我们为国际学生所办的英语课程(ESL)不仅相当优秀，而我们学生的托福成绩也完全反映
了学校的决心。每年我们会根据新来的国际学生的英语程度，以及她们的个别需要，来做
英语课程(ESL)上的调整。

As a reflection of both our focus and ability to meet students' needs, Linden Hall has begun this week to provide a new slate of ESL courses.

提供了一些新的英语课程(ESL)。

In response to their individual institutional TOEFL scores, some of our students are moving up and out of ESL classes. Conversely, other students are enrolling in lower or additional ESL classes, again based on their TOEFL scores.

在分班前，我们给学生做了一次托福的模拟考试，有的学生考得好，被分发到更高一级
的ESL的课上，有的学生考得更好，就从ESL的英语课上调

At the mid-point in the academic year, students will have another opportunity to progress to the next highest level of study in response to additional testing administered at that time.

期中的时候，学生们会再给一次英语程度评估的机会，如果成绩考进步了，就会被调到更高
程度的一班。

While we believe in the importance of our ESL program to the success of our international students, we also understand that students desire to move out of the program and into mainstream classes when they are ready. In fact, thanks to the strength of our ESL program, every Linden Hall senior-including those who initially arrive with limited English-graduates school with a full schedule of mainstream classes.

我们相信我们学校英语课程(ESL)对国际学生学习成功与否的重要性，我们也了解我们的
国际学生，在她们英语水平达到标准的时候，渴望被调到和美国学生一起上英语课。事实

Each Linden Hall girl is treated as an individual, and each Linden Hall graduate leaves this school equipped to succeed in the university and beyond. Each of our international students' success begins with a solid foundation of English skills, which we meticulously help her build. Once this foundation is in place, the world is at her feet.
