The Linden Ledger

Vol. 04/05 Issue 7 Feb. 15, 2005

As I attempted to stay calm and focused, I knew it wouldn’t work as well as I wanted it to. I ran through questions that we had practiced the day before. Schools were coming in, and it was nearing 8:30am.

8th Quiz Bowl

Guest Writer, Diana Lavery, ‘09

hosted its 5th Annual 8th Grade Quiz Bowl Tournament. Ten schools participated on that day, including Linden Hall’s own 8th grade team, but only two teams would make it to the finals.

If you haven’t heard already, our team, which included Maria Romo

Fernandez, Hyun Jung Lee, Sun Jung Park, Arhama Rushdi, Jess Shain, Sabatha Schravesande, Luchia Walker, Alexa Wellington, and me, didn’t quite make it to the finals. But, that’s okay. We did win one match against Our Mother of Perpetual Help School (OMPH), though, 90 to 75. We tried our hardest and played until the end, and that’s all that matters.

Dead Body Found!!!

Ya Bajen Sarr, ‘06

Did you know that on December 20th, 2004, a dead body was found at a Boy Scout Camp in Northern Lancaster county? The body has yet to be identified but so far, the autopsy shows that the body had been there for a number of months before its discovery.

According to WGAL, the not so lucky discoverers found the body in an area so far away from the rest that authorities had to park half a mile away from the scene! They had people out all night acting as surveillance guards until the morning when investigators arrived at

the scene.

The corpse, as it turns out, was in such bad condition that it was impossible to identify his/her gender. All that was known was the fact that he/she was fully clothed and had probably been lying there for months. No reports of missing people had been filed prior to the discovery, so it remains one of Lancaster's biggest mysteries!

Hopefully, through the person's dental records, authorities can make an identification and solve the mystery to put the rest of the camper's minds at ease.
