On December 1st, for the first time ever, an all-girls team participated on the show Brain Busters. Having no intention of just showing up and looking pretty, these ladies from Linden Hall spewed historical dates, scientific terms, and works of literature all the way to a win over the opposing team, Annville-Cleona. Brain Busters is a quiz show sponsored by Capital Blue Cross and filmed at the WGAL studios in Lancaster. The teams that compete are from high schools in the Susquehanna Valley. Over one hundred teams are invited to apply, but only thirty-eight are selected to partici |

Murray of Beaumont, CA; and Jennifer Arline of Hershey, PA; with Lis Reed of Manheim, PA as the alternate. The first round consists of questions asked to all players. The first player to buzz in before the three-second limit is up and correctly answer the question receives ten points. Linden Hall got off to a strong start, leading 90 to 50 at the end of the round. The second round is the one-on-one face-off. Before this round begins, each player is interviewed by the host, Rich Rosen. Each person is then paired with an opposing player, and these two are the only participants who can answer the questions. Each pair is asked three questions, valued at ten points apiece. Linden Hall dominated the round, answering seven questions to Cleona's one, bringing the score to 160 to 60.

cessful auction. Desiring more information, The Ledger spoke to Kaitlin Haughey. Kaitlin said, “At the beginning of the year, the junior class formed the auction committee. We kept some of the traditions and added to them. The junior auction is usually held later in the year; however, we think this is a wonderful opportunity for Christmas gift shopping, especially Angel Mortal gifts. Therefore, we decided to do it before Christmas. “We have collected a lot of things from different stores in town, and they have generously given us numerous donations. Also, we have asked the faculty for their help: some teachers have made us cakes, and some have promised to give an |
