Linden Hall
"Abby just found out her fall terms grades (from Smith College), and
she earned a 3.86 GPA. She had three A's and two A-'s. She told me over the break
that she thought Linden Hall had prepared her well."

Thank you for your interest in Linden Hall.

Meet the Admission Office staff. From left to right they are Gail Wolfgang, Admission
Assistant; Amy Weaver, Assistant Director of Admission; and Kate Rill, Director
of Admission.
Linden Hall has been dedicated to excellence in the education of young women for
over 260 years. Founded in the belief that learning is not just for the classroom
but for life, with an emphasis on the 4 C's - Curriculum, Character, Culture, and
Conditioning (Fitness) - Linden Hall offers a challenging academic program within
a nuturing environment to best prepare women for the 21st century. Extensive arts
and athletic programs ensure the education of the whole student. The school is a
place where girls develop confidence and experience independence. A Linden Hall
girl learns to ask questions, take risks, and become a leader.

Why select an all-girls school?
The National Coalition of Girls' Schools has summarized the benefits
to your daughter derived from a single-sex education. We also encourage you to listen to our parents
about the benefits a Linden Hall education has given to their daughters.
Research shows: girls' school graduates have an edge
For the first time, educators have solid evidence of girls' schools'
effectiveness. This week, UCLA's Graduate School of Education & Information
Studies released the results of a well-documented, national study which shows
the statistically significant edge girls' school graduates have over their coed
peers. This peer-reviewed research disentangles the effects of single-sex
education from confounding demographic influences. At a time when education is
on the national agenda, UCLA's study will make a significant contribution to the
discussion. Read the full press release

In the past, Linden Hall has closed its dorms over Thanksgiving,
Spring Break, and Easter. In response to several requests to change this policy,
Linden Hall will now provide room and board during those breaks for a fee of $100
per day. Students are not required to stay on campus during these breaks, but are
welcome to stay in the dorms, should they choose this option.
